ABC North Florida Education and Training Facility at Lively Technical College Ribbon Cutting.
Tallahassee, Florida Sept. 23, 2025-
The North Florida Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced the opening of the new Education and Training Facility on Lively Technical’s campus.
This new facility aims to align workforce development and education with construction industry standards and employer needs.
“This is a wonderful opportunity because the industry will actually be on campus now and to bring any industry of the multiple industries they represent here means the students have direct pathways to work,” Brandi Faison, ABC of North Florida Education Director said. “Lively is one of the few campuses that when the student attends this college, because it is a technical college, that they leave without being in debt.
2025 Legislative Conference
As the Voice of Commercial Construction, Free Enterprise and the Merit Shop - ABC held its 2025 Legislative Conference, including constituent visits to Capitol Hill in Washington DC, on June 23-25, 2025. While there are several measures of importance to our industry, this year’s Hill visits primarily focused on repealing the Biden-era Executive Order pertaining to PLAs (Project Labor Agreements) and asking Members of Congress to co-sponsor FOCA (Fair & Open Competition Act).
Lively Tech Student Earns Top Safety Award at National Competition
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA Feb. 28, 2025—Today, the North Florida Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), announced that Sunny Ruby, a student in the construction trades at Lively Technical College earned a top honor for Safety at the 2025 National Craft Championships (NCC). The winners were recognized at ABC’s Careers in Construction Awards ceremony during the national ABC Convention in Las Vegas.
